IST Assessment

Due Date: End of week 9 term 2. Video files to be submitted (on CD-ROM), storyboard, synopsis and Gantt chart are to be posted to your blog.

One CD per group will be produced, with the name of the group and members written on it. The files should also be backed up on your S drive.

Producing The Video
The objective of the task is to produce a video of around 5 to 10 minutes in duration. The video may be on a topic of your choosing. Successfully completing this task will require your group to create and edit video and audio files and to publish the finished product in an appropriate format. This task will ideally be done in groups of three. Those wishing to vary the group size need to seek permission.

The video will need to include
  • titles and credits where appropriate.
  • An added sound track for part or all of it (this could be narration or music)
  • Dialogue or scene sounds during the rest of the clip
  • Appropriate transitions between clips
  • Several camera angles edited into the video
  • Two output versions, one for broadband access and one for school network access. The video format produced should be either wmv or mpg.

In addition to the video, each student in the group will need to provide on their blog in separate posts,
  • A Gantt chart that schedules the tasks to be completed throughout the project.
  • A clear synopsis that outlines the purpose and goal of your video. For example are you creating an instructional video on cyber safety aimed at young people . This should only be three or four lines.
  • A storyboard for the video (there is a template on the class site under video resources if you need it). You could do this as a PowerPoint then upload it to slideshare.net before embedding this in your blog.
