Yes...the Grand Canyon is BIG!!

Well we made it out of North Carolina, across Tennessee and Arkansas and Oklahoma and Texas and New Mexico and into Arizona all in about 32 hours....we both agree that New Mexico is our least favorite....the desert in Arizona in much much prettier...if a desert can be pretty??

Here's a pictures of the vehicle (aka Steven's truck)used for traveling and transporting all our things (plus 7 boxes that we shipped) parked at a rest area in New Mexico
Yesterday afternoon we arrived in Arizona and went to the Petrified Forest National Park to see logs and parts of trees that have turned to rock because they have been there so long...pretty cool stuff...we took lots of pictures and even saw some old ruins of houses Indians built from these trees and rocks....here are a few pictures from the park....we camped outside of Flagstaff,AZ last night at a KOA and had a shower...now that was nice!! Now we are at the Grand Canyon..it is truly amazing..we walked around and took pictures from several locations on the rim and read multiple posts about the history of the place. I think we might try to plan a trip back sometime to actually hike down to the bottom...not quite enough time for it on this trip.....planning to camp here for the night....just got finished with dinner and saw that they had wireless so I thought I would update this blog thing and post some pictures. (Mandi...the donkey pictures is for you...no we didn't ride on them :-))

Tomorrow we are on to Hoover Dam and might even ride through Vegas just to see what it's like...everything is going well so far and we only paid over $3.49 for gas once. Keep in touch and let us know what you think of the pictures.
