Draw vs Paint

Drawing programs create images composed of objects (eg. squares, circles, shapes). The objects can have properties such as colour or line thickness. These objects can easily be edited (eg. change shape, colour position). Drawing programs create vector files.

Paint programs create images pixel by pixel. They are difficult to edit. Files they create are called bitmap. A bitmap image can be opened on paint programs.

Drawing Program: Inkscape

Painting Program: Paint
