Ice Station Zebra-Great submarine thriller

I remember seeing this 1968 film on the Friday Night late show when I was 11 years old and I was hooked for the next time they showed it on TV.

This flick stars Rock Hudson as the submarine captain and also stars football great running back Jim Brown. It’s great thriller well worth picking up if you haven’t seen it.

If you’re a fan of Crimson Tide with Gene Hack man and Denzel Washington, the scene of the sub going down on a uncontrolled dive that endangers the ship being crushed, was taken right from Ice Station Zebra, If I’m not mistaken, most every submarine film has a scene like that. It’s part of Hollywood’s formula. Both films do it quite well.

Special note: This film has a great soundtrack.
