Someone Great

Someone Great by LCD Soundsystem is a pretty sweet song. I dig the clicky techno underbeat and mellow sound, but the video is tight. It follows the travels of a darkened silhouette through the city, which is pretty artistic and fun to watch in and of itself. However, at the end of the song when the artist sings/chants "when someone great is gone," it puts the video into context and it all becomes just a little more meaningful.

I'm sure we can all relate to experiencing that dark and empty space left behind when someone you love is no longer there. I thought that the silhouette was a great way to personify that. It also made light of earlier lyrics in which the artist sang of the trivial things that he misses now that his someone great is gone like the way they argued and how the coffee doesn't taste the same.

Overall, just a great chill song and a fun to watch video. I dig it, what do you think?
