Texas Rangers Owner Tom Hicks Files for Bankruptcy

Every time a new owner comes into a sport, they always think they can just throw money around to build a good team. Hicks gave too much to just one guy without thinking that a roster is made up of 25 players.

From Tererz Owens.com:

The Major League Baseball Team the Texas Rangers owned by billionaire Tom Hicks filed for bankruptcy today.

The move was to facilitate a sale to investors led by team president Nolan Ryan and his partner Chuck Greenberg.

Alex Rodriguez was listed as the Rangers’ top unsecured creditor. Remember, Tom Hicks was the buffoon who gave A-Rod a quarter billion dollar contract which changed the scope of baseball salaries..

“I want to assure all our fans that this process will not affect the day-to-day management of the team as we continue to compete for a playoff spot in 2010,”

Ryan said in a letter to fans posted on the team’s website..Ranger fans have to be thrilled Hicks is getting out..and A-Rod is laughing all the way to the bank..
