Missing Money Meeks' New Katrina Slap Robo-Calls to Katrina Victims

TLT will continue to report on Democrat Gregory Meeks and the missing money he raised for Hurricane Katrina victims that never made it to Louisiana.

The main stream media continues to ignore this scandal.

From the New York Post:

"Congressman Cao stood with the insurance companies and Republicans in Washington, instead of standing up for hardworking families he represents."

Residents are urged to call Cao -- whose district was among the worst hit by Katrina -- and "tell him to put your interests first."

Gregory Meeks promised to put Katrina victims' interests first when he outlined a plan to support 30 families after the August 2005 disaster, promising "every dime" raised by a special fund would go to them.

But The Post revealed that New Yorkers Organized to Assist Hurricane Families, or NOAH-F, spent only a paltry amount on victims, despite bringing in more than $31,000.

A spokesman for Cao blasted the Meeks calls, which were paid for by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

"We find it odd that a New York politician who apparently never delivered the tens of thousands of dollars he said he collected for New Orleans Katrina victims now wants to tell New Orleans voters how to vote," said Taylor Henry.

Meeks has insisted he was not responsible for distributing the money raised through NOAH-F.
