South Korean Navy Ship Sinks Near North Korea DMZ

Don’t look for President Obama to leap in the defense of South Korea even though their our ally.

No, he only gets concerned when our enemies need a helping hand.

Market Watch.com reports:

A South Korean Navy patrol boat sank Friday near the western maritime border with North Korea following an explosion, according to Korean media reports.

There are no details on the cause of the explosion but South Korean officials are not ruling out a possible torpedo attack from North Korea, the reports said.

Another South Korean Navy vessel that was patrolling nearby fired at unidentified ships to the north of the area, according to an online report from the Korean Broadcasting System.

So far, 54 of the 104 crew on the 1,200-ton Cheonan have been rescued, the reports said. South Korean security officials have convened an emergency meeting to discuss the developments.
