The Left loves to change the meaning of words to suit a desired political agenda. The word “gay” used to mean happy. When the character of Maria in the 1957 musical West Side Story sang, “I feel pretty, of so pretty. I feel pretty and witty and gay, “she wasn’t declaring lesbianism. Gay has been forever been co-opted to mean something different from its original meaning.

Similarly when two Americans are captured by the Iranian government and kept in prison for over 2 years against their will, the Left cannot call them what they truly are-hostages. In order to serve a political agenda to take the heat off the current Democrat administration who already enough domestic troubles on its plate, they’re just a couple of hikers who made a wrong turn in the desert.

Also, the million dollars paid to get these two misguided youngsters freed from prison is not really “ransom”, it’s called bail.

So the next time Iran snatches up some Americans, throws them in prison on false charges, but it’s a Republican sitting in the White House. Does the word “hostages” make a comeback to suit a new political agenda?
