Rick Santorum hit a home run and doesn’t owe Gay soldier an apology: GOPPROUD offbase

This is what GOProud, a Republican Gay organization, had to say after the debate:

GOProud

Tonight, Rick Santorum disrespected our brave men and women in uniform, and he owes Stephen Hill, the gay soldier who asked him the question about Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell repeal, an immediate apology.

“That brave gay soldier is doing something Rick Santorum has never done – put his life on the line to defend our freedoms and our way of life. It is telling that Rick Santorum is so blinded by his anti-gay bigotry that he couldn’t even bring himself to thank that gay soldier for his service.
“Stephen Hill is serving our country in Iraq, fighting a war Senator Santorum says he supports. How can Senator Santorum claim to support this war if he doesn’t support the brave men and women who are fighting it?”

Senator Rick Santorum was absolutely right and probably got the loudest cheers from the Florida audience when he said the military is no place for social engineering.

I agree with that!

The job of our soldiers is to defend our country-period! The sexual orientation of any soldiers is nobody’s business but their own. Therefore it’s a false argument to say that Santorum was being “anti-gay”. That’s a trick the LBGT lobby love to play to divert attention from the true issue.

If Gays want to serve in the military, fine, they still could’ve under DADT. Bill Clinton had a brilliant policy. But, a minority of homosexuals who have self esteem issues of their own feel compelled to announce to the world how they have sex. It’s the only distinction in life that sets them apart from most people.

However, what happens in the bedroom is supposed to be private. That’s the critical issue! Be Gay all you want but keep it to yourself. The military should be the last place where this debate or social experiment be an issue. I want my military to just be concerned about breaking things and killing people. We don’t need any confusion or distraction from that simple mission.

Rick Santorum was on point!
